Come join us for Cranksgiving SOMA, a food drive on two wheels, Sunday, November 22nd, 2026 from 10am to 12pm. Part bike ride, part scavenger hunt, Cranksgiving is a fun way to bike around town while gathering donations to support your local food pantries. All you need is a bicycle, a lock, and a bag. The event is free, but you’ll need money to purchase food (spend as much as you are comfortable).
You’ll pedal the streets as you search for specific items at various stories around town. Once you’ve collected all the items and arrived at the finish, the food will be donated to the needy. Cranksgiving is a national event that occurs in over 100 cities across the country, including South Orange & Maplewood.
This event welcomes everyone: very casual riders & families as well as experienced riders. For those looking for a challenge, sign up for The Full Spread, that covers a wider area.
Aim to arrive at the South Orange Elks Lodge, 220 Prospect Street, South Orange, at 10am for registration. The ride kicks off 10:15am. See you there!
Don't ride a bike? You can still contribute! Bring food donations to the South Orange Elks Lodge by 12 pm on 11/22.
