We Shred Rock Creek is back for 2026 – and it is shaping up to be one heck of a good time on bikes. Whether you’re looking to progress, try a new trail, ride Rock Creek (or any bike park!) for the first time, or just meet other rad women+ and girls who ride, this event is for you!
No matter your skill level, showing up and riding any mountain bike park can be a little intimidating, especially if you don't have a friend to ride with. That’s why we’re extending an invite out to women+ of all ages to join us at Rock Creek – without racing or egos – to have fun on the trails and progress at your own pace. Join pro downhill racer/ MTB skills coach/ mom Caroline Washam for a chill day of doing what we all love: riding bikes, talking about bikes, and relaxing a little too. (And yes, the park will be open to all men and boys, and we welcome all male supporters!)

One of the reasons We Shred exists is to help remove the barrier of entry for women+ and girls who have never ridden a bike park before. We want you to know that you are welcome at Ride Rock Creek and there are trails for you! This is your opportunity to try a bike park. Sign up for the “First-timer” category and receive a free bike park pass.
This event is rain or shine! Check out the weather before the event and dress accordingly.
Yes! Enduro/ trail bikes or downhill bikes are acceptable at Rock Creek. We recommend riding a bike with at least 140mm of suspension travel and disc brakes that are in good working order! Rock Creek also has rentals, but make sure to reserve ahead of time: Rentals | Ride Rock Creek
Full-face helmets are required at Ride Rock Creek. You can rent a full-face helmet at Ride Rock Creek for just $10 (sizes Y, XC, S, M, L, XL, 2XL). Knee pads, elbow pads, gloves, chest protectors, and goggles are also not required, but recommended.
We never recommend downhill riding to brand-new riders. Being comfortable using your brakes, standing up and moving around on your bike is a requirement. However, Ride Rock Creek trails offer progression for all levels of riders. It’s not all massive drops, jumps and gnarly rock gardens! If you’re new, we recommend starting on the green trail, Green River, and working your way up to blue trails if you feel comfortable doing so.
Camping is available just down the road from the park at Rock Creek Campground.
Cold Spring Basecamp is also right around the corner, and they offer camping as well as cabins and even a cool tree house!
Hotels, Airbnb/VRBO options are available in nearby cities, Hendersonville, NC and Travelers Rest, SC.
You can also find great resources for lodging here: 2024 National Championships | Ride Rock Creek
Just come out! We'd love to meet you and chat! The event doesn’t cost anything just to be there and with the discounted pass, we encourage you to come out and give it a try. Start small, and we know you’ll love it.
