E-BIKE REGULATIONS (THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS....LEARNING AS WE GO....)
As we continue to provide e-bike racing in the Month of Mud series we want it to be a safe but welcoming racing environment for all mountain bike enthusiasts and racers. In order to do so we believe the following standards are fair for our local grassroots series.
• E- Bikes that are USAC UCI or GNCC certified are legal.
• E-Bikes must pedal assist with a max speed of 20mph.
• Programmable E-Bikes must be set and locked to 750 watts and 20 MPH. • Throttle mechanisms are prohibited. • Boost buttons must be removed or disabled. • No aftermarket modifications will be allowed.
• E-Bikes must be inspected 30 minutes before the race start. • E-Bikes MUST be in the off position at the starting line and powered up at the official's instructions. • Settings must be verified immediately after finishing. • Any E-Bike that is found to be illegal, rider will forfeit all prizes and points and will be suspended for remaining races. All categories. • Officials carry the right to test any E-Bike in question. Month of mud is not liable for any damage that may occur during testing. If you withhold your E-Bike to this test, you will be disqualified from the race.
• Passing etiquette must be followed. Unsportsmanlike behavior, foul riding, use of profanity, or flagrant discourtesy directed at participants, spectators, or officials will result in disqualification.
• Analog bikes have the right of way, you must yield to a racer in a different class to pass you when appropriate and safe to do so.
• No battery swapping during the race
